Annoying

Working on a drawing all evening, really pleased with progress. Go to dinner. Return and it looks stilted and stale! *delete*

Tezuka Profiles

1 min read
While I was subbing at the middle school this week, I busted out my sketch pad and decided to do a series of profile portraits of various Osamu Tezuka characters.

I started off with Black Jack. The hair isn't quite right, but I didn't have a reference available when I did that one. Hee. However, in trying to do Atom, I came to a sobering realization: I couldn't get the little twerp's hair to look right no matter what I tried! I swear, drawing Pluto will be easier than trying to place those two triangles just right.

...and you don't have much to work with.

Hungry? Don't have much in the way of ingredients? This went over pretty well with my family last night.

You will need:
2 lbs ground beef.
12-14 small red potatoes.
1 can of green beans.
Frozen dinner rolls of your choice, preferably pre-cooked.
Salt, olive oil, rosemary, pepper, other spices.

Cut potatoes into quarters and coat with 2 tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp dried rosemary (2 if fresh), .5 tsp salt and pepper in a bowl. Set oven to 400F and roast in a pan for 30 mins or until golden and tender.

While that's in the oven, cover and simmer the beans in a small saucepan on low heat. Season the ground beef to your preference (I always like Worcestershire sauce) and divide into four thick patties and wrap with bacon. Secure the bacon strips with toothpicks and top patties with seasoning of your choice. Heat oven to 450F and cook patties until medium. If you're not sure, just use a meat thermometer and keep an eye on it.

Once those are done, remove from oven and cover with foil. Cook frozen rolls according to directions (if pre-cooked they should take about ten mintues) and remove from oven. Serves four.
